Whether through love or lust at some point in time two people got together and made you. And from that point on the burden of choice was transferred from those two people to you. And as surely as you were brought into this world, at some point in time you will have to clock out because the big guy upstairs doesn't like OT. What fills that space in between those two points is all of the choices that you've made.
I used to detest social media because of the phoniness that people could project, but here's one thing that it showed me: you have to make memories. Whether these moments that people display are real or staged is a separate post entirely. Let's stay on track here! In order to exist online you had to be visible. This visibility came from posting a lot of pictures of you doing stuff. And now that you're visible in order for your profile to be interesting it had to be cool stuff. Just couldn't be a million pictures of you eating tacos. Even though everyone loves tacos. But your profile is the microcosm of the macrocosm. It's an analogy for life. Your real life!
All time is now! That's what the ancestors would say... even without all of the modern technological advancements these people were wise. All time is now. The future is just a concept; it's not real until it actually happens. You may know what you're going to do tomorrow because of planning, but it's not tangible. You're going to get up at 7 a.m., shower hopefully, get dressed, go to work, come home, watch TV, and go to bed. But it's still not real until it happens. And the past... it's just memories. Everything you've done up until this point... I mean the exact point of you reading this article, only exists in those memories. To other people you only exist in those memories. At some point your shift will be over and that's where you will live on until those memories are no longer passed along.
I met someone the other day who said they had never left the state of Maryland. Instead of just thinking honestly in my mind, I actually said to this person you've have to get the hell out. It's a big world out there and the space between those two points we referenced earlier is shallow. Do not let one moment get by. Think of that time as money. Each moment has a cost, regardless. The cost to waste that time is the exact same cost to create a wonderful memory. Do you like to waste money? I know I don't. I'm always looking to get the biggest bang for my buck. And so I say to you spend that life money wisely and convert those mundane moments into memories. Create a life that you're proud of and wish to look back upon. Create memories for you to live on so that your name doesn't fade into the wind like Spider-Man being turned into ashes after a Thanos finger snap. Because a life without memories is a life forgotten...
